A man from the Kellyton area was arrested on multiple possession charges for a variety of narcotics following a residential search.
Chief Deputy Scott Hammond reported that on June 12, Sgt. Ward and the Clay/Coosa Drug Task Force served a narcotics search warrant at a residence on Alabama Highway 115 in Kellyton.
The team entered the house, cleared the residence and began investigating searching for drugs. During the search several narcotics were found, along with numerous pills.
At the time of the search, the individual law enforcement officers were looking for was not at home.
Warrants were obtained for Julius Torode Floyd, 53 years old. On June 15, he turned himself in to the Coosa County Sheriff’s Office for warrants on a total of nine charges, including six for possession of a controlled substance.
Floyd was ultimately arrested and charged with second-degree manufacturing of a controlled substance, possession of controlled substance (clonazepam), possession of controlled substance (oxycodone), possession of controlled substance (hydrocodone), possession of controlled substance (cocaine), possession of controlled substance (crack rock), possession of controlled substance (synthetic marijuana), second-degree possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Floyd’s bond for all nine charges was set at a total of $65,000. He was released on bond the same day to await trial.
