I heard this one from a friend in Columbus, Miss.
A frog saw some geese heading south for the winter. He thought, “I sure would like to go south for the winter.”
So, he talked with some geese and asked, “How about taking me with you when you fly south for the winter? It gets awfully cold here, and I don’t have any hair to help keep me warm.”
One of the geese said, “But you can’t fly.”
The frog said, “Well what about you take a stick and one of you get on one end of the stick and the other on the other end. Then I will clamp down in the middle with my mouth.”
“That’s a good idea,” said the geese. “We’ll do it.” So, they did. Each one of the geese took the stick, one on each end, and the frog bit down in the middle.
So, off they flew with one goose on each end, and the frog holding on with his mouth in the middle. Everything was fine until they flew over a farmer in a field. He looked up and was amazed to see what was going on.
He said, “That is a great idea. Whose idea was it?”
The frog said, “It was mine.”
