Equality & Nixburg News
Jennifer Williamson
I am still waiting on some estimates to replace the galvanized roof on Jenny’s General. I did get a reasonable estimate, bit more than I have on hand, for a more modern, colored metal roof.
I think I just want to go with the standard galvanized panels that have been on the roof for decades, keeping a more vintage look of the old general store. So, I am waiting for another fellow to come by and give me an estimate for that.
Social media posts on Jenny’s General Store’s Facebook page look nice and hoping this will increase foot traffic into the store. It was suggested to get some of those wire stake signs and put them along the road in either direction to draw more attention to the store. I can’t think of any cute quips to put on them, but if you have any suggestions send them my way.
Jenny’s General did a tea of the week, which was Butterfly Pea Flower tea. It is a blue flower that makes a lovely rich blue-colored caffeine-free herbal tea that will turn purple when a bit of lemon is added. The flavor of the tea has been described by Bon Appétit as “earthy and woody – more similar to a fine green tea.”
