Tynlee Best drove in five runs on three hits to lead Central past Winterboro 27-6.
Best hit a home run in the third, scoring three; hit a sacrifice fly in the first, scoring one; and singled in the second, scoring one.
Central jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after a steal of home scored one run; Henley Stevens drew a walk, scoring one run; Lillie Kimbrell drew a walk, scoring one run; Henley Jennings drew a walk, scoring one run; Best hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run; Hannah Hyatt was struck by a pitch, driving in a run; Reese Lee drew a walk, scoring one run; Stevens was struck by a pitch, driving in a run; Kimbrell drew a walk, scoring one run; Jennings singled, scoring one run; and Payson Edwards was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.
Central scored 10 runs on seven hits in the top of the second inning. Lee doubled, scoring two runs; Kimbrell singled, scoring one run; Edwards was struck by a pitch, driving in a run; Skyler Wright drew a walk, scoring one run; Best singled, scoring one run; Alyssa Woodfin singled, scoring one run; and Hyatt tripled, scoring three runs.
Central scored five runs on three hits in the top of the third inning. Wright singled, scoring two runs, and Best homered, scoring three runs.
Kimbrell opened the game for Central. The righty gave up four hits and six runs over three innings, striking out four and walking seven.
Central of Coosa County Varsity Cougars collected 12 hits in the game. Lee and Best each collected three hits for Central.
The Lady Cougars had patience at the plate, tallying 13 walks for the game. Jennings, Woodfin, Kimbrell, Stevens, and Hyatt led the team with two bases on balls each.
Lee, Jennings, Woodfin, Edwards, Kimbrell, Stevens, and Hyatt each stole multiple bases for Central.
The Lady Cougars ran wild on the base paths, amassing 26 stolen bases for the game. Central was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Woodfin had the most chances in the field with four.
