This is Coach Elliott’s seventh year teaching at Central Coosa. Coach Elliott teaches primarily tenth grade driver’s education and health, as well as one eighth grade remediation class and one ninth grade career preparedness class.
Coach Elliott is also in his seventh year as the head coach for both the volleyball and softball teams.
Elliott said of teaching,”I believe every student has the ability to learn, but each student has a different learning style. It is our job as teachers to assist each student the best we can to help them achieve success. My goal is for each student to feel they have done their best in my class and for it to be memorable to them.”
In addition, Elliott added that the things students learn in his driver’s education class are things students can take with them through life to help keep them safe on the road.
Elliott concluded by saying,”I love the relationships we as educators can build with our students. In my class it’s a great thing when one of my drivers learns a new skill that they were afraid of doing at first and then realize they can do it. They are building confidence in themselves. It’s always nice when I see a former student out and about, and they want to come up and talk to me about how they are doing.”
Congratulations, Coach Elliott; we appreciate everything you do for our students, both academically and athletically.
