Rockford swears in mayor, Council members

The Town of Rockford joined other municipalities across the state of Alabama in holding its organizational meeting and swearing-in of officials and town representatives Monday.
Judge of Probate Richard Dean administered the oath of office to Mayor Scott White and Town Council members Lynn Anne Castleberry, Cordarius Lee, Shirley Ogle, Robert Smith, and Nieshia Whetstone, as well as Town Clerk Lesle Nelson and Chief of Police George Fanning.
Following the swearing-in ceremony, the Council held its annual organizational meeting.
As part of the organizational meeting, the Council nominated and approved Cordarius Lee to serve as mayor pro tempore.
Additionally, the Council unanimously approved keeping its meeting schedule the same, meaning that regularly scheduled Town Council meetings will continue to be held at 6 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month at Town Hall.
The next regularly scheduled monthly meeting of the Rockford Town Council will be held at 6 p.m. November 18.
