October 25

Boo Bash Bingo will be held at Bibb Graves Community Center on Saturday, October 25, at 5 p.m. Spooktacular prize drawings throughout the night. Treat Baskets for kids 12 and under. Prizes for best costume for adults and kids. Freaky franks and Monster Mash snacks are available. Bingo cards are just 50 cents each. October 26

The Coosa County Historical Society will hold its quarterly meeting Sunday, October 26, at 2 p.m. at Edgewood Plantation, located at 14946 Alabama Highway 22, Rockford. Everyone is invited!

 

October 28
The Coosa County Republican Party will meet on Tuesday, October 28, at the Kellyton Civic Complex, located at 145 Church Street. Fellowship starts at 6 p.m., and the meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. We are pleased to welcome guest speaker Derek Chen, candidate for state auditor. We encourage you to bring friends and family to join us. Please note that this will be our final meeting of 2025. Looking ahead, our 2026 meeting schedule will continue rotating across different locations in Coosa County to provide more residents the opportunity to attend and hear directly from our 2026 candidates.

 

October 30

October Fest for Senior Citizens will be held October 30, from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., at the J. D. Thompson Alumni School Building, 1854 Coosa County Rd. 93, Kellyton, 35089. A $10 donation would be appreciated for lunch and a treat bag. Everyone is cordially invited. There will be games and other fun activities.

 

November 8

Fall Festival in downtown Goodwater will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. November 8. Vendor fee: $25 for small businesses. Registration deadline: October 25. For more information email sharonnah25@mail.com.

 

November 9

A Veterans Day Ceremony sponsored by the Weogufka Neighborhood Watch will be held Sunday, November 9, at 2 p.m. at 145 Memorial Loop, Weogufka. All are welcome to join us as we honor our veterans.

 

November 14

The Goodwater Youth Development & Recreational Center will host “Soup and Chili: Give Back to the Community” on Friday, November 14, from 12 p.m. until at the Goodwater YDRC at 166 Harris Street, Goodwater. Join us for a warm meal, fellowship and community spirit! FREE event – all are welcome! Come enjoy delicious homemade soup and chili as we give back to our community with love and gratitude.

 

Weekly

The Goodwater Youth Development and Recreational Center is open to the public weekly on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and practice days for the travel ball team are those same days from 5 to 6 p.m. Cheerleader practice is held on Wednesdays and Fridays. Monthly

Richville Neighborhood Watch will be held the first Thursday of each month at the fire department, 13185 Coosa County Rd. 14, Rockford, 35136. The gathering begins with a potluck meal at 6 p.m., and the meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. Come out and see what is happening in your community.

Monthly breakfast returns to West Coosa Senior Center! The West Coosa Senior Center in Stewartville will host breakfast on the fourth Saturday of each month from 7-10 a.m. at the center, located at 47 Coosa County Road 70, Sylacauga, 35151 (the old Stewartville School). Breakfast is $8 per plate with choice of ham, bacon, sausage, eggs, gravies, and more! Dine in or call ahead at 256-249-2024 to carry out. Donations appreciated! Breakfast will be served monthly now through October, with it not being held in November or December.

West Coosa Friday Night Dance & Dine will be held the second Friday of each month at the West Coosa Senior Center! Live oldies music by The Misfitz Band, Potluck supper – bring your favorite covered dish to share. Doors open at 5 p.m., and supper starts at 5:15 p.m. Admission is FREE! This is a family friendly event – no alcohol! Friday Night Dance & Dine is proudly sponsored by J&J Pest Away. The senior center is located at 47 Coosa County Road 70, Stewartville, 35151.

 

Quarterly

The Hanover Community Club and Neighborhood Watch will now hold quarterly gatherings at Andrews Chapel. These quarterly gatherings are held on the third Tuesday of March, June, September, and December at Andrews Chapel Fellowship Hall at 6 p.m. Everyone is cordially invited and encouraged to attend. Y’all come!
