The Central High School Walk and Talk, which included the Coosa County Science Fair and parent conferences, was held last Thursday, October 2.
While coming to view the science fair projects, parents were also given an opportunity to conference with their child’s teacher to find out ways they can help their child improve their academic performance before the first nine weeks report cards are finalized.
The science fair was held in the Central gym with a record 205 projects entered in the contest this year. Science coach Shelley Wood said, “The students did a great job of performing experiments using the scientific method. In addition, their project boards were creative and informative.”
In addition to the science fair, students presented their projects to their classmates during their science classes earlier in the week.
First place winners will receive $50, second place $40 and third place $30 at the First Nine Weeks Academic Awards Day ceremony. The projects were judged on appearance, creativity, originality, and use of the scientific method, as well as data collection and analysis. Congratulations to all our winners.
