ServSafe Managers Course: Boost food safety skills with ServSafe training! Working in food service? Need a ServSafe certification? Alabama Extension’s ServSafe training program gives food service workers the tools they need to succeed. These classes meet food service safety standards required by the Alabama Department of Public Health. This course will be held September 8 and 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Coosa County E-911 office, located at 66 Communication Drive in Rockford. Register at this link: aces.edu/go/servsafe. Herb Garden to Pantry: Come learn how to grow, preserve and cook with fresh herbs. This class will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. September 10, at the I-HOPE Center, located at 166 Harris Street in Goodwater. Registration is FREE. The Rockford Utilities Board will meet at 6 p.m. at the Board Office on Monday, September 15. The Utilities Board is located at 9301 U.S. Hwy. 231, Rockford, near Dollar General. For more information call 256-935-4004.

The monthly meeting of the Coosa County Conservation District Board of Supervisors will be on Monday, September 15, at 10 a.m. at the District Office located in Hanover at 226 Coosa County Road 157.
September 20
Bibb Graves Community Center Car Show and Swap Meet will be held Saturday, Sept. 20, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Rainout date is Sept. 27. There will be 50/50, Money Tree, Door Prizes, Wipe Out Board, Food Trucks, Craft Vendors, and more. Car and vendor registration is $25. Reverse drawing tickets for sale until 10 a.m. with $25 per ticket or five for $100. Reverse drawing will be $1,500 for first place and $1,000 for second place. Save the Date: The J. D. Thompson High School Alumni Association is pleased to invite you to a special unveiling ceremony of the Historical Marker for the Coosa County Training School. The ceremony will take place on September 26, 2025, at 10 a.m. The event will be held at the J. D. Thompson Alumni elementary building located in the Cottage Grove Community, 1854 Coosa County Road 93, Kellyton, Ala. 35089.

The Goodwater Youth Development and Recreational Center is open to the public weekly on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and practice days for the travel ball team are those same days from 5 to 6 p.m. Cheerleader practice is held on Wednesdays and Fridays. Monthly
Richville Neighborhood Watch will be held the first Thursday of each month at the fire department, 13185 Coosa County Rd. 14, Rockford, 35136. The gathering begins with a potluck meal at 6 p.m., and the meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. Come out and see what is happening in your community.

Monthly breakfast returns to West Coosa Senior Center! The West Coosa Senior Center in Stewartville will host breakfast on the fourth Saturday of each month from 7-10 a.m. at the center, located at 47 Coosa County Road 70, Sylacauga, 35151 (the old Stewartville School). Breakfast is $8 per plate with choice of ham, bacon, sausage, eggs, gravies, and more! Dine in or call ahead at 256-249-2024 to carry out. Donations appreciated! Breakfast will be served monthly now through October, with it not being held in November or December.

West Coosa Friday Night Dance & Dine will be held the second Friday of each month at the West Coosa Senior Center! Live oldies music by The Misfitz Band, Potluck supper – bring your favorite covered dish to share. Doors open at 5 p.m., and supper starts at 5:15 p.m. Admission is FREE! This is a family friendly event – no alcohol! Friday Night Dance & Dine is proudly sponsored by J&J Pest Away. The senior center is located at 47 Coosa County Road 70, Stewartville, 35151.
Quarterly
The Hanover Community Club and Neighborhood Watch will now hold quarterly gatherings at Andrews Chapel. These quarterly gatherings are held on the third Tuesday of March, June, September, and December at Andrews Chapel Fellowship Hall at 6 p.m. Everyone is cordially invited and encouraged to attend. Y’all come!
