The Central cheerleaders spent four days at the Great Wolf Lodge in LaGrange, Ga., team building and working hard to prepare for the upcoming season.
While at camp the girls learned new routines, sideline cheers, dances, stunts, and did several team bonding activities. The girls worked very hard and learned a lot of new things.
Seniors Meori Smith, Katie Meeks, Reniyah Gibbs, and Lamiya Harrison were recognized for their leadership.
Congratulations to Destini Kelley and Katie Meeks who were selected for the All-American Cheerleading Team.
In addition, Destini Kelley and Sede Harkins were chosen for the Pin it Forward Award; recipients are chosen by UCA staff based on leadership, spirit, commitment, kindness, and motivation displayed during camp.
At the end of the week, the girls competed in the middle varsity division and came home with the Overall Game Day Championship Award, the Tradition Award and the Overall Most Improved Award.
They are looking forward to showing all the skills they learned in the upcoming seasons. Thank you to cheer sponsor Breezy Johnson for organizing the camp experience for our cheerleaders, as well as Marsala Mitchell for assisting her.
Be on the lookout in future editions for the fall football schedule.
