Central High School recognizes academic excellence during awards programs, seniors awarded $776,444 in scholarships

The seventh through eleventh grade awards program recognized students on Honor Roll, as well as Outstanding Student and Most Improved Student in each grade level and subject.
iReady Highest Scorers were recognized and awarded a medal. Principal Lee also presented the Principal Leadership awards. Students were also recognized for their service, including 42 Student Government Association members receiving their medals for a combined total of 1,617 hours volunteered in service to their school and community.
At a special evening program, seniors, family, friends, and faculty were beaming with pride for our seniors. The night started with scholarship award presentations and continued with multiple scholarship awards throughout the evening for a combined total of $776,444 for the 2025 graduating class. Thank you to the numerous organizations who sent representatives to award our seniors with their scholarships.
Seniors were also recognized for their academic excellence, including 3.0-plus grade point average, Outstanding Student and Most Improved Student in each subject, and Top 10 seniors, including Valedictorian Izabel Whaley and Salutatorian Roderick Graham.
Top 10 seniors also presented a faculty member with a Golden Apple Award as a symbol of appreciation for making a difference in the lives of their students.
iReady medals were presented to students with the highest scores.
Career Tech program completers were also recognized.
The first place winners of the senior Escape Room Game were awarded a framed copy of the U.S. Constitution.
Everyone could feel the Cougar Pride in the Central Gym as numerous seniors received awards.
Thank you to our counselor, Mrs. Wade, and our principal, Mrs. Lee, for all their work in recognizing our students’ academic excellence. Thank you to our Board of Education members; including Chairperson Tiffany McCain, as well as Jenny Kimbrell, Sharon Massie, Sharon Coffman, and Joe Belyeu; for continually supporting our students at various school events.
