We love and appreciate our staff every day, but multiple organizations went above and beyond to show their love during Teacher Appreciation Week.
SGA project coordinator Meori Smith worked with members to have something special for the teachers each day. Meori and other members came to the school Sunday to surprise teachers Monday by sweeping and mopping their classrooms. Tuesday they provided plants with the inscription “The seeds you have planted in the hearts and minds of your students will continue to grow long after you are gone.” Wednesday was a popcorn box with treats and the inscription, “Bursting to tell you you’re an amazing teacher.” Thursday was a special scratch off note, and Friday teachers were treated to ice cream sundaes.
Multiple other organizations provided lunch and sweet treats each day for teachers. Monday was hot dogs and chips sponsored by Principal Lee and Assistant Principal Watson, cake pops sponsored by JAG, and boba tea sponsored by Dwilda Edwards. Tuesday was barbecue, baked beans and chips sponsored by parent Stephanie Tillman, counselor Wade, and Principal Lee, and donuts sponsored by JAG. Wednesday was a potato bar with fixins sponsored by PTO and a cookie tray sponsored by Alabama One. Thursday was chicken finger plates including dessert from Triple R sponsored by FCCLA. Friday everyone was treated to Mexican sponsored by Rockford Mayor Scott White.
Thank you to everyone, at school and in the community, for making our staff feel extra special during Teacher Appreciation Week.
