We thank God for allowing His storm to pass us by in a more peaceful manner than many had anticipated.
Many types of storms come in our lives sometimes; however, this one was God’s. However, He gives us a way to conquer and overcome, and it’s through prayer and faith. We cannot stop God’s doing, but we can ask for His grace and mercy in the name of Jesus. “We have not because we ask not.”
We thank God for lives being saved and pray for the ones who experienced loss of homes and damage to their property.
Children and pets make you wonder sometimes. When I first moved back to Coosa County and brought my fur baby April (a house dog) I was criticized by some for having a dog in the house and buying dog food. A dog should be outside and fed scraps, they said.
It wasn’t very long after that these same people who criticized me put a dog in their house and bought dog food then want to tell me how to take care of my fur baby. (Written with a big laugh.)
My cat, Smokey, has his house on the porch, and he eats when we feed him as we eat, the same as Kobe. Lately Kobe has been checking us out when we eat. He is only allowed in the kitchen when it’s eating time and to get water. That’s where his bowls are kept.
We eat in the kitchen, and he does, too, along with us. When we decide to take a TV table into the living room to eat and watch TV, he does the same, but his TV table is the floor. Thank God no carpet. He goes in the kitchen, gets a mouthful of his food, brings it to the living room, drops it on the floor, and eats it. Then he goes back and gets another mouthful and does the same thing until we are finished.
If there is more in his bowl he goes back to the kitchen, and he finishes eating there. When I clean the TV tables and put them up he comes and licks the floor where he ate his food. Only pet lovers will understand and believe this.
When he doesn’t feel well he goes into the prayer room and stretches out. Kobe is amazing. I tell Butch I believe he is human. He is smarter than some human beings.

My little great-niece said to me one day, when I asked her how her fur baby was, she said, “She died. She committed suicide because she wasn’t sick.”
My little great-nephew knows his grandmother is a great cook and loves for her to make him different dishes, but isn’t aware she doesn’t use salt anymore. One day she made him some eggs without putting salt in them. He thought she had lost the touch. He said to her, “Your eggs are not good because you didn’t put salt in them.”
Happy birthday to my nephews Stanley and Perry Hill, Lady Roschell Smith, Janice McKinney, and all March babies.
Let’s pray for all storm victims.
“Treat your Bible like you do your cell phone. Take it everywhere you go, check for messages every hour, and panic if you forget it and leave it at home.”
