Special to the News
Mrs. Worley’s Educators in Training (EIT) classes will be hosting the Cougar Cub Academy February 27-28, April 14-17, and May 5-7. Coosa County Career Tech Center (CCCTC) future educators will be teaching the Cougar Cubs numbers, the alphabet, colors, shapes, and literacy skills.
The EIT students have created lesson plans for each session based around a different theme. The lesson plan includes a clear objective for the 2- to 4-year-old age group. Lessons will also be taught using differentiation methods, classroom management strategies, classroom design, and learning style concepts the EIT students have been learning throughout the year.
The EIT students role-play the lessons ahead of time with their classmates in order to be better prepared for teaching our Cougar Cub students.
CCCTC’s goal is to provide a work-based learning activity for the EIT students by establishing a welcoming space for littles to learn through play and structured group times that assist the Cougar Cubs in preparing to attend school in the future. The director of the EIT program, Mrs. Worley, said they are able to accommodate six Cougar Cubs.
If you have a child who is between 2 and 4 years old and potty trained, and are interested in him or her becoming a Cougar Cub, please reach out to Mrs. Worley by emailing lworley@coosaschools.org.
