The Buzz
Buzzy the Buzzard
I’ve spent a lot of air about the importance of community journalism lately. I want all my fans to contact their legislators in support of SR 149, introduced by Sen. Kitchens and sponsored by the Alabama Press Association.
The APA is vital to the support of community newspapers, online and print, and their bill provides for the continued publication of public service notices. I hope this bill doesn’t get lost in partisanship.
I also want to make some comments about community leadership. Everyone in the statehouse is identified by party, even though they have already been elected. Why?
I’ve been sitting on this branch for a while, and let me tell you something I have learned. Leadership puts community over politics, and policy over party.
What do you think? I’d like to hear from you.
Love,
Buzzy
