December has been a busy month for the Key Club. They entered a float in the Rockford parade, which included throwing snowballs made of sodium polyacrylate.
Congratulations to the Key Club for tying for third place in the float competition. For their efforts, they will receive $75 for their organization. Key Club sponsor Mary White bragged on her members, sharing that during the preparation time they helped another float in need while they could have been preparing their own float. We are so proud of our students that when they serve in their community we always hear such great compliments about them. Our students make our school proud.
The Key Club also hosted a Christmas Toy Drive with students and staff donating more than 40 toys, as well as clothes. Donations were taken to the Department of Human Resources in Rockford for distribution. Thank you to Key Club members who initiated the project, Aerial Green, Aniya Horton and Zavion Abston. Thank you, also, to Key Club sponsor Mary White for coordinating the students in their efforts to serve their community.
