The CES Masked Singer competition was the brainchild of Mrs. Martin, who also served as the emcee of the event. The competition was organized as a fun event on October 31 to reward teachers, staff and students.
The performance was a surprise to the students, and everyone enjoyed it so much they have already started planning for next year. The cast of characters included Mrs. Edwards as Red Flappy singing “Dance Monkey,” Mrs. Adams as Unicorn singing “Cupid Shuffle,” Mrs. Alverson as Balloon Dog and Mrs. Hagan as the Cougar Mascot singing “I got a Feeling,” Mrs. Williamson as Pink Bubble singing “Space Jam,” Mrs. Thomas as Purple Bubble singing “Million Dollar Baby,” Mrs. Wells as Shark singing “Party in the U.S.A.,” Mr. Hammons as T-Rex singing “How to Save a Life,” Mrs. Blakely as Duck singing “Shake it Off,” Mrs. Baty as Dog singing “Who let the Dogs Out,” and Mrs. Causey as Cow singing “I’m not Okay.”
Congratulations to first place winner Mrs. Thomas, second place winner Mrs. Adams and third place winner Mrs. Baty who received Halloween Spirit Sticks, with all participants receiving Masked Singer trophies.
Three Spirit Sticks were also given to the grades that had fun, participated and did not have any discipline issues. Congratulations to the Spirit Sticks recipients, kindergarten, first and third grade.
Special thank you to Mrs. Bost for coordinating the event, Mr. Ingram for managing sound, Mrs. Blakely for organizing the playlist, Mr. Pelletier for creating the Masked Singer banner, Mr. Chappell for creating the Halloween banner, Mrs. Forbus for serving as stage manager, and Mrs. Hughes and Media Club students who videotaped and edited the event.
