A Sylacauga man remains in custody after being arrested earlier this month in connection to a stolen vehicle.
Sheriff Michael Howell reported that Sylacauga had a vehicle stolen that belonged to the Housing Authority.
He explained that Investigator Ward and Reserve Deputy Hodge were conducting an investigation into another case when they located a white utility truck on Ham Road in the Stewartville community. He said it appeared that an individual had spray painted the truck in an attempt to hide its identity.
They proceeded to make contact with 28-year-old Dillon Vincent of Sylacauga. That investigation led to Vincent’s arrest on the charge of first-degree receiving stolen property because he was in possession of the stolen vehicle in Coosa County.
The utility truck was recovered and returned to the Sylacauga Housing Authority.
Vincent’s bond has been set at $20,000, and as of press time he remained in custody awaiting trial.
