Unzell Kelley, former Coosa County commissioner and president of the J.D. Thompson Community and Economic Development Corporation, is sponsoring a three-day Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America (NACA) event in Kellyton titled “NACA: Achieve the Dream,” a one-stop location for affordable homeownership.
Homebuyers and homeowners alike are encouraged to attend the event, as homebuyers can qualify for NACA’s Best in America mortgage, while homeowners can obtain funds for renovations by refinancing with the NACA mortgage.
Individuals can become qualified for NACA’s “Best in America mortgage” with one-on-one counseling at the event.
NACA’s “Best in America mortgage” features no down payment, mortgage insurance, closing costs, or fees and has a below market fixed rate and interest rate buy-down. Perfect credit is not required, and an individual’s credit score is not considered for the mortgage.
The three-day event will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. January 13 and 14, and from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. January 16 at the Coosa County Community Life Center located at Peace & Goodwill Church at 188 County Road 30, Kellyton. The event is not held on that Sunday.
Kelley, sponsor of the local event, stated, “Low-income residents are looking to access the American Dream to purchase homes. NACA is a unique organization eliminating historic roadblocks like credit worthiness.”
NACA is the largest nationwide HUD-approved non-profit housing counseling organization fighting for economic justice through affordable homeownership and community advocacy.
Each day during the three-day event, individuals will have the opportunity to follow four steps to see about qualifying for the NACA mortgage or obtaining funds for renovations by refinancing.
Those steps include attending a homebuyer workshop, providing information and documentation, meeting one-on-one with a NACA counselor, and having the individual’s file reviewed for NACA qualification or next steps.
