The C.C.T.S./J.D. Thompson Alumni Association hosted a Christmas Open House at the J. D. Thompson Alumni Building on December 11, from 12-2 p.m.
Alumni President JoEtta Maxwell welcomed everyone to the event. The weather was rainy, but 50 people showed up to view decorated Christmas trees and wreathes with multicolored lights. The rooms were also decorated with Santa Claus, Christmas lights, vintage decorations, and toys such as dolls, trains, bears, and many other items that brought back memories of yesterday to everyone.
Refreshments for the visitors included chicken salad, crackers, holiday punch, Christmas cookies, and fruit. Christmas carols led by Mrs. Chlora K. May and Mrs. Sheryl Borden were enjoyed by all.
The open house was a success thanks to the community and our dedicated volunteers. We appreciate Pastor Eddie Jennings and the New Elam Baptist Church for attending, former District 3 County Commissioner Unzell Kelley and Chamber of Commerce member Spencer Hardy and his wife, Lattie.
