A routine day on the job turned rather frightening Monday when a GFL Environmental, or Green for Life, truck caught on fire. According to reports, the GFL garbage truck turned onto Adams Street in Rockford to pick up trash. When the driver stopped the truck, he looked back to see the entire back of the cab ablaze. He jumped out of the truck, and Rockford and Hanover Volunteer Fire departments responded to the scene and put out the fire. Photo submitted
