The Coosa County Children’s Policy Council met Tuesday afternoon, but not for its usual monthly meeting. This month’s meeting was spent with members holding the group’s annual community project. In addition to enjoying refreshments and a time to visit with each other, attendees spent time helping compile “goody bags” with an assortment of items. This year’s community project was to honor law enforcement, Department of Human Resources employees and other miscellaneous community workers with the goody bags. Fortunately the CPC had plenty of help in assembling the bags. Even three of the five county commissioners attended to lend a hand, Bertha K. McElrath, Brandon Davis and John Forbus. The CPC will resume its regular monthly meetings with its next meeting being held at 12 p.m. January 10. Photos submitted
