A Coosa County woman was arrested earlier this month for allegedly stealing funds from a victim.
Sheriff Michael Howell stated that a victim reported a case of theft of property with the Sheriff’s Office after noticing that he had several thousands of dollars withdrawn from his account.
Howell said that the victim went to the suspect, 43-year-old Wendy Sims of Stewartville, to address the issue.
Howell explained that Sims admitted to taking the money from the victim. As such she was arrested on November 4 and charged with first-degree theft of property.
Sims’ bond was set at $5,000, and she was released on bond on November 7 to await trial.
