Following the recent announcement of his retirement from the board, the Coosa County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors surprised former Treasurer Joe Chastain with a special award commemorating his years of service with the board. Having served as a volunteer with the board for five years, the award reads, “Presented to Joe Chastain for your many years of service to the Coosa County Chamber of Commerce.” It included the chamber logo and the year. Chamber Board President Travis Milhan presented the award to Chastain Tuesday afternoon when Chastain was meeting Kathy Fulmer to transfer the board’s checkbook to her for her to take on the role as treasurer. Milhan expressed the board’s appreciation for Chastain and his service over the years. Pictured from left are Chamber Board Vice President Scott White, Chastain and Milhan. Photo by Christa Jennings
