It was a good day for the Goodwater Public Library Wednesday as the library received a donation thanks in large part to one of its patrons.
Rep. Ben Robbins visited the library Wednesday afternoon, along with Judge of Probate Richard Dean, to present Goodwater Public Library with a check for $250.
This donation came about because one of the library’s patrons, KeKe Jones, had talked with Robbins about the library and how much she and others utilize the library. From that conversation, Robbins gave the library $250.
Librarian Shirley Thompson stated that the library greatly appreciates the donated funds, which can be used for the after-school program and other needs.
Robbins described KeKe as “a bright young girl” who was “the catalyst” for the library receiving these funds.
This goes to show that anyone can make a difference regardless of age, and as Robbins stated, “All voices matter.”
The Goodwater Public Library is located at 62 Coosa County Road 66, next to the Post Office. It can be reached via phone at 256-839-5741.
