A young child was the victim of drowning in Coosa County last month.
Sheriff Michael Howell reported that his office was contacted on September 22 by a mother who stated her daughter was missing. Howell and others responded to the scene of the residence and began looking for a 4-year-old female.
She was found in the water close to her home, located on Trenton Lane off of County Road 1. Howell reported that the 4-year-old drowned off of Jordan Lake, near the Coosa River.
The victim’s name is not being released because of her age. Howell stated that they are conducting a death investigation and awaiting autopsy results, which he expects to have back soon.
