A Childersburg man was arrested last Thursday in connection to a case involving stolen property.
Sheriff Michael Howell reported that on September 16 a report was filed with Sylacauga Police Department regarding a pontoon boat being stolen. An investigation led to discovering that the boat had been sold to someone in the Weogufka community.
The Coosa County Sheriff’s Office then investigated and put pieces together to tie the individual responsible for selling the boat to the buyer in Weogufka, according to Howell. He added that the offender in this case was related to the victim.
That investigation culminated in the arrest of 52-year-old Matthew Paul Golden of Childersburg on the charge of first-degree receiving stolen property.
Golden’s bond was set at $5,000, and he has since been released on bond to await trial.
