The Coosa County Republican Party will hold its monthly public meeting on Monday, September 26, at the E-911 building located at 66 Communication Drive in Rockford. Refreshments will be served at 6 p.m., and the meeting will begin at 6:30.
The guest speaker will be Jimmy Entrekin, legal counsel for Alabama Legislative Service, and he will be going over the amendments that will be on the November 8 ballot.
Most of these amendments relate to the rewording of the Alabama Constitution to remove old or racist language and reorganizing the document into an easier format. Sample ballots should also be available to pick up.
Also attending the meeting will be Lee Vanoy from U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers’ office. Rogers will be the new congressman for all of Coosa County after the November election, and this will give attendees an opportunity to make a connection to reach him.
The CCRP is also hosting or participating in numerous events and activities around Coosa County between now and election day. For more information on them, please follow the party’s Facebook page (Coosa County Republican Party).
Currently the group is hosting weekly events such as “Breakfast with the Candidates” at Triple R Cafe in Rockford each Saturday morning from 8-10 and “Pizza and Politics” each Thursday at Twenty-Two & Crew in Rockford from 4:30 p.m.–until. Both of these events are Dutch treat, and members of the Executive Committee will be attending to help with introductions.
