With Labor Day this weekend, it is unofficially the end of summer. Many will be on the waterways and highways enjoying the last bit of summertime weather with a long holiday weekend. Motorists, boaters and others traveling or enjoying the water this weekend are encouraged to take precautions and be safe during this busy time. While officially fall does not begin until September 22, based on astronomical fall and the equinox, the meteorological fall began yesterday, as meteorologists consider fall to be during the months of September, October and November. While there have been lower temperatures in the early morning already, the highs remain in the 90s for now. The weather forecast also predicts occasional rain with showers and thunderstorms Saturday through Monday, but hopefully it will not dampen spirits or activities for Labor Day weekend.
