As the organization wraps up one season, Coosa Upward Sports is preparing to register for another season of youth sports for Coosa County’s children.
It was reported that the inaugural season of basketball and cheer has been a “huge success” with 67 youths registered. That season will wrap up on Saturday, July 2, with the final basketball games and a closing ceremony being held.
Coosa Upward Sports’ next sport will be co-ed soccer, with registration opening tomorrow for the soccer league. Many families have already expressed an interest in having a soccer league that will be local so they do not have to drive out of the county for their children to play soccer.
Registration for the co-ed soccer league is open to boys and girls in kindergarten through sixth grade. Registration will be held on Saturdays starting tomorrow and will be on June 18, June 25 and July 2.
Registrations will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on those dates at Central Gym, the small gym located at Central school campus in Hanover. The registration fee is $56 if paid in cash, and there is an extra $2 fee if paying with a credit or debit card.
The registration fee includes the child’s uniform, which consists of a T-shirt, shorts and socks. The fee also covers the program fee, medal and taxes.
No late registrations can be accepted because of ordering deadlines. Practices for the soccer games will start in August.
