In late April a Sylacauga man was arrested on multiple drug-related charges following a routine traffic stop.
This week Sheriff Michael Howell reported that on April 26, Deputy Ward was patrolling with Reserve Deputy Payton in the Stewartville area around County Road 68. Ward proceeded to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by 65-year-old Kenneth Gamble of Sylacauga.
They then conducted a search of the vehicle, which resulted in them finding a firearm, methamphetamine, marijuana, and a pipe for smoking meth. Howell reported that there was more than 3 grams of marijuana and 5 grams of meth in the vehicle.
Gamble was arrested the same day on four charges. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, first-degree possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a concealed weapon without a permit.
Gamble’s total bond was set at $12,500, and he has since been released on bond to await trial.
