A Rockford man was arrested Wednesday on a drug-related charge in addition to probation violation following a home visit.
On Wednesday Sgt. Ward accompanied Probation Officer Burnham on a home visit at a residence along Alabama Highway 22.
Upon their arrival they made contact with a female in the front yard. Burnham asked if the individual they were looking for was inside, and she advised them that he was.
As Burnham and Ward entered the residence, they found the subject with a baggy of a brown leafy substance beside him.
The case was turned over to Investigator Ward, and the individual admitted that the baggy contained synthetic marijuana.
James Paul McDaniel, 55 years old, was then arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and probation violation.
His bond was set at $5,000, and as of press time he remained in custody at the Coosa County Jail awaiting trial.
Anyone who observes or suspects illegal activity is encouraged to report it to the Sheriff’s Office at 256-377-4922 or online at www.coosacountyso.org. Anonymous tips are also welcome.
