An Alexander City woman was arrested last month for driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop.
Chief Deputy Scott Hammond reported that on September 20, Deputy Kelley was running radar on U.S. Highway 280 when he recognized a vehicle with a traffic violation.
Kelley initiated a traffic stop, and as he approached the vehicle he could smell the odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle.
He asked the driver if she had been drinking, and she admitted to consuming some alcohol. Kelley proceeded to ask the driver to step out of the vehicle to conduct standard field sobriety tests.
However, the driver failed all tests given. As a result, 28-year-old Kayana Leah Daniels was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Her bond was set at $2,000, and she has since been released on bond to await trial.
