A Goodwater man was arrested on drug-related charges following an attempt to serve a warrant for another agency.
On June 12, Chief Deputy Scott Hammond, deputies Davenport and Payton and Sgt. Rudd responded to Scales Street in Goodwater attempting to serve a warrant for Sylacauga.
Hammond reported that when they arrived on the scene, they saw the individual in question on the porch with a glass pipe in his mouth, which he put in a black case when he saw them.
Because of what the deputies had seen, they investigated the black box that was right beside where the subject was sitting and found a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue.
While patting him down, deputies also found a baggy containing a crystal-like substance believed to be crystal methamphetamine.
This resulted in 49-year-old Terence Surrell Thomas being arrested and charged with possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia. A hold was placed on him for Sylacauga.
For Coosa County’s two charges, his bond was set at $10,000. As of press time he remains in custody at the Coosa County Jail.
