An attempt to serve warrants on an individual in the Ray community resulted in two arrests for various charges.
On June 10, deputies Hubbard and Payton responded to County Road 32 attempting to serve warrants on Johnathan Lance Mann.
The original report leading to the warrants was made on June 4 on Alabama Highway 259 for Mann for first-degree unlawful imprisonment and aggravated assault on a juvenile.
While attempting to locate Mann to serve the warrants, deputies saw a previous victim in the residence who had a protective order from the judge and was not supposed to be around Mann.
According to Chief Deputy Scott Hammond, a white female slammed the door in the deputies’ faces. They gained entry to conduct a welfare check on the female who had the protective order and found two individuals, Mann and Megan Lynn Johnson, hiding in the residence.
Johnson; 30 years old, of the Ray community; was arrested and charged with obstructing government operations.
Mann; 29 years old, also of Ray; was arrested on the warrants of first-degree unlawful imprisonment and third-degree assault and further charged with two counts of violation of a release order.
Mann was given no bond for the violation of release order charges. As such, he remains in custody at the Coosa County Jail awaiting trial.
Johnson’s bond was set at $2,500. She was released on bond in June 11 to await trial.
