Pastor Fred Lee with other pastors who came to hear him preach at Rockford First Baptist Church
It is good to know the voice of God and obey. Well, I know a man of God who is guilty, and that is Pastor Stanford Benson of Rockford First Baptist Church.
God gave him a vision, and he (Benson) saw it out, obeyed and was truly blessed from the start. Benson asked five preachers/pastors who began their journey at Rockford First Baptist to come and preach, starting in May and ending in September. Each month on Tuesday nights, one of these five pastors will preach.
On May 12, Pastor Fred Lee preached, and oh, did he preach and started the fire. He preached from Romans 12:1 and more. “A Renewed Mind” was his subject. We must renew our mind constantly and be careful who we hang with.
Stay away from negative things because the old man is still there and can rise up again, but pray. Prayer changes things.
A changed mind is a right mind. You can love right.
Pastor Lee set the full church on fire, and no one called the fire department. My Butch was not feeling well that night; however, he came home with a renewed body and mind. Praise God.
Next month, June 16 will be Pastor LaJerrell Hill preaching. On July 14 it will be Pastor Micheal Edwards, on August 11 it will be Pastor Tremayne Benson, and on September 15 it will be Bishop Eddie Edwards. Everyone is welcome to come and hear some great preaching and singing.
I grew up with some of these pastors, and I saw LaJerrell and Tremayne grow up from little boys in church. I knew God had His hands tightly on them, and they could not get away. They ran for a while, but could not hide. God caught them, and they have been preaching ever since.
Now they are pastors, married with children, but they are still my boys, serving the Lord.
Let’s pray for all of these pastors who will be speaking in the next months, and continue to pray for Pastor Lee to stay on the battlefield for the Lord, now at 85 years young. He preached Tuesday night like he was 35 years young.
Butch said to me, “Ruby, Pastor Lee preached so well that he kept my full attention in his entire sermon. I get bored with some preachers when they preach long, but I wanted Pastor Lee to keep going,” and Butch was right. Pastor Lee outdid himself. It was awesome.
Happy birthday to all May babies.
Congratulations to LaCresha Alexander on her achievement as the county administrator. LaCresha is a very wise, smart, young lady with class, and we are very proud of her. A very humble young lady.
