Equality Volunteer Fire Department will be selling Boston butts and a rack of St. Louis ribs for $35 each over Memorial Day weekend.
Distribution day will be May 23, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the fire department lodge next to Quality Food Mart. Please support our local volunteer fire department with this great fund-raising activity.
Certified community herbalist Sequel Campbell of Three Moon Harvest held the first of her series of herbal courses last week with attendees from Equality, Rockford and Richville.
Sequel went over the medical sheet on each herb, talked of the history of herbal uses, sampled herbal tea, and guided the attendees in making their own tincture. Attendees left with their tincture, sampling of the herbs and a finished tincture to use right away.
If interested in learning more about herbs and their uses the next course will be the third Thursday, which will be April 16 from 10 to 12 and will feature Spring Greens, dandelion, cleavers, and chickweed. Sequel will bring tea tastings and edibles to enjoy during the course.
Also, there is an opportunity to meet Sequel and view her products at a meet and greet at Jenny’s General Store on Saturday, April 4, from 10 to 2 p.m. Her products will also be available for sale at Jenny’s General Store.
Community activities that are available that you can support:
- The Equality quilting group which meets every Monday evening from 6 to 8 at Jenny’s General Store. We do more than quilt; some embroider, crochet and other needle arts.
