Union Square News

Last Sunday was a blessed day for me and Butch. First we heard a wonderful message from Pastor Ray Franklin, preaching from I King 13; “A Friendly Reminder” was his topic. Pastor Franklin reminded us of some of the things that please God: love, kindness and obedience.
Love and kindness make a difference in your life. When God tells you to do something, do it and don’t let anybody turn you around. False prophecy and jealousy can do it very easily if you allow it.
Be careful who you let in your bubble. Guard your heart, and obey God. You’ve got to know His voice.
Franklin did an awesome job, reminding us to stay focused and do God’s will.
After worship service, Pastor Ivor and Lady Rochelle Smith invited us to join in celebrating Pastor Ray and Lady Amy’s seventh wedding anniversary by treating us to lunch at a nice restaurant in Wetumpka. It was a great treat and needed fellowship for all of us.
The Holy Spirit took control of everything. I had not seen Butch this happy in a fellowship setting in a long time. It made is day, and mine, too, especially by him being so happy.
The Smiths and Franklins are great people, and we love them, our Union Square neighbors whom both couples moved here from Florida and are all loving Coosa County and Union Square.
We are grateful for them becoming our neighbors. It is good to have wonderful neighbors who love God and people.
Happy birthday to Ava (Polly) Burton, Deacon Paul Burton, Toni Cook-A, Reggie Dubose, Priscilla Burton, Deja Wright, and to all January-born babies.
Prayer list: Bro. Raymond Evans, schools, churches, our country, and ill leaders. You are in our thoughts, Lydia.
I am saddened by Richard Smallwood’s death. He was one of my favorite singers. I pray for the family.
This man’s songs healed me in so many ways, and I am grateful. I am still here listening to his music. His music will never die.
“Speak it. If it’s mentioned, it’s manageable.”
