Central High School proudly recognizes Jorden Conway, a seventh-grade student, as a January Student of the Month.
Jorden is the son of Nekedra Conway and Edward Conway. Teachers describe him as a student who consistently comes to class prepared, follows directions diligently and takes his schoolwork very seriously. He remains focused in class and does not allow distractions to interfere with his learning, making him a strong example for his peers.
Jorden’s favorite subject is math, which he enjoys because it is easy for him to learn. He shared that he likes basketball and hopes to one day have a job he can stick with for a long time. While Jorden noted that he did not have anything additional to add about himself, his dedication, positive attitude and strong work ethic clearly speak for him and make him well deserving of this recognition.

Central High School is pleased to recognize Kortlyn Welch, an eighth-grade student, as a January Student of the Month. Kortlyn is the daughter of Wanda McElrath and Victor Welch and is from the Goodwater community. She attends Morning Star Baptist Church and is described by her teachers as a very smart young lady who presents herself well and shows respect to classmates, faculty and staff.
Kortlyn’s favorite subject is math, which she enjoys because it often comes easily to her. She participates in cheerleading and balances her extracurricular commitments while staying focused academically. Looking ahead, Kortlyn hopes to become a real estate agent. She shared that she is smart, kind, respectable, and hardworking – qualities that contribute to her success and make her a positive influence at Central High School.
Ansli Shone, a ninth-grade student, has been selected as a January Student of the Month at Central High School. Ansli is the daughter of Kayla and Matthew Shone and is from the Equality community. She attends Rockford Church of God.
Teachers commend Ansli for being a conscientious student who stays on task and actively participates in class, demonstrating focus and responsibility in her academic work.
Ansli’s favorite subject is English, which she enjoys because of the teacher and the way the class is taught. She shared that her future plans include graduating and attending cosmetology school. Ansli’s dedication to her education and her clear goals for the future reflect her determination and make her a deserving recipient of the January Student of the Month honor.

Central High School proudly recognizes Kalicia Davis, a tenth-grade student, as a January Student of the Month. Kalicia is the daughter of Delicia Davis and Kevin Davis and is from the Kellyton community. She attends The Word Bible Church and is described by her teachers as a tremendous asset to the school, known for her school spirit, positive attitude and leadership.
Kalicia’s favorite subject is math, and she is involved in basketball and cheerleading.
Kalicia shared that she is a Christian who enjoys singing in her church choir and likes to cook and bake.
Kalicia plans to attend college, pursue a career in real estate and one day hopes to open her own bakery or restaurant. Her determination and balance of academics and extracurriculars make her an exceptional role model.

Central High School is honored to recognize Rachel Reams, an eleventh-grade student, as a January Student of the Month. Rachel is the daughter of Matthew Reams and Dani Reams and is from the Rockford community. She attends Sardis Baptist Church and is described by her teachers as a dedicated student who consistently seeks out challenging opportunities to grow academically and personally.
Rachel’s favorite subject is physics, which she enjoys because it helps her understand how the world works.
She is involved in Junior Leadership of Lake Martin activities and has participated in academic programs during the summer while excelling in dual enrollment courses. Rachel plans to attend Auburn University to earn a degree in animal science. Her kindness, gratitude and commitment to excellence make her a standout student and an outstanding representative of Central High School.

Joseph James, a twelfth-grade student, has been named a January Student of the Month at Central High School. Joseph is the son of Kelli Johnson and Clayton Johnson and is from the Goodwater community.
Teachers describe him as a well-mannered young man who is always willing to help others and is consistently a positive influence on campus.
Joseph’s favorite subject is English, which he enjoys because it allows him to express his creativity.
He shared that his future plans include attending junior college and becoming a writer.
Joseph also wanted others to know how much he loves his two younger siblings. His kindness, creativity and leadership make him a strong example of Central High School pride.
