Models display outfits designed by the Verlie B. Collins Sewing Class using denim fabric and pre-loved blue jeans.
Special to the News
On October 30, the J. D. Thompson Alumni members welcomed 60 senior citizens to the historic Coosa County Training School alumni building.
The morning was planned with lots of treats, fun, food, fellowship, games, and music for everyone.
The Jazz Cisers exercise class and the Verlie B. Collins Sewing Class were our special guests, from Sylacauga. The Jazz Cisers demonstrated healthy and safe exercise movements that had the crowd clapping, moving and singing to the music.
The Sewing Class members kept the excitement going as the ladies modeled outfits they designed using denim fabric and pre-loved blue jeans. The skirts, dresses, pants, and accessories were gorgeous. Both groups were inspiring.
The Octoberfest continued as the seniors enjoyed word puzzles, coloring, craft making, and their all-time favorite, bingo with prizes. The day ended with everyone taking a treat bag home filled with goodies.
The J. D. Thompson Alumni members would like to thank everyone for coming to the festival. We appreciate your support.
