Union Square News

Happy birthday to Union Square’s Mrs. Joyce Taylor. We hope you had a wonderful blessed day yesterday.
Happy birthday to all August babies.
I thank God for men who don’t mind working and being like the ants – smart, hardworking guys like my beloved Butch Hardman, our neighbors Thomas and Tim Taylor, Pastor Ivor Smith, and Pastor Chris Hill, and there are others. However, time won’t permit.
These guys work hard, despite their age, retirement and being a pastor, which is a 24-hour job, praying for his church members, praying for the next message and still trying to be the right husband and father for his children.
I have written about ants before; however, it is time to write again. To see so many lazy men today who don’t want to work is very sad, and some women, too!
When I was growing up I did not see lazy men, even the young males worked, 10 and 12 years old. Now the young and old are lazy as h*ll, if I must say. I don’t want to use a better word worse than that one (LOL).
Most people hate ants, stomping on ant hills. The most hardworking men can learn from the ant and follow their example. The ant knows how to work hard, fast and together, and they can do it all without being told.
Lazy men and women don’t want to be told to do things, but they won’t do unless they are told. Ants don’t need a general. They can march in formation. Without a contractor the ant and a few thousand of its closest friends can restore a home in an afternoon, and without weapons or ammunition it can protect that home from all threats, foreign and domestic.
Let’s hang with the ants for a while. “You are the company you keep.”
The people you associate yourself with are a reflection of your own character.
