Equality & NIxburg News
Jennifer Williamson
I have had a rough week starting with getting something in my eye while trimming. I must have been allergic to it because my eye swelled up and burned for hours. Tears flowing, causing my sinuses to start burning and then my nose and throat.
I had to flush my eye every 5 to 10 minutes for two days to get it cleared up. After five days things were improving, but then the ear broke off my glasses, and being bifocal transition lenses my eyes started straining as the glasses were crooked on my nose.
The eye strain then caused a migraine. I was able to order new glasses, but in the meantime found some glue to get the ear back on temporarily while waiting for the delivery of the new pair of glasses.
Jenny’s General is getting a lot of compliments on the new paint color on the front of the store. Barn red, with cream trim, with some black around the inside of the windows and doors to make them pop. The large front window is being painted with Herbs and Spices, Essential Oils and Goat Milk Soap in black letters on a white background.
After the weather cools a bit, I will have Yates Paint and More return and touch up the sign and paint the portion over the porch roof to match what is under the porch roof.
Inside the store things have been updated a bit, as well, so stop by and check out the changes.
Keep a lookout for the yard sale on Highway 9 in Nixburg that benefits Kendrick Memorial Baptist Church on Saturday mornings. All proceeds benefit the church, and they are usually out early in the cooler temps in the mornings.
First Saturday is tomorrow, August 2. Please consider supporting either by contribution or volunteering. Baked goods can be donated for the bake sale, and baked goods can be purchased from the bake sale.
Donations are accepted for breakfast and/or lunch, and browse the rummage sale while socializing with your neighbors from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. All proceeds go to supporting our Equality Volunteer Fire Department.
I depend upon my readers to share with me what is happening within your organizations, churches, neighborhoods, groups, or family to share in next week’s column. Please contact me; leave a voice message or text 256-531-6460 or email at coosacafe@gmail.com.
