A Rockford man was arrested last month on charges related to placing unfounded 911 calls.
Chief Deputy Scott Hammond reported that on April 3 the Sheriff’s Office dispatch received a 911 call from Rockwood Apartments. Upon arriving at the scene, Deputy Payton met with John Presley, who has made multiple 911 calls from that residence.
Presley reported that someone had broken into his apartment and was still inside. Payton searched the property and found that Presley had made another false 911 call.
The same day, 63-year-old Presley was arrested and charged with obstructing government operations and interference with public safety communications. His total bond was set at $7,500, and he was out on bond April 4 to await trial.
Presley was arrested on a similar charge last November for making multiple unfounded 911 calls, as well.
