Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers and ladies. Whether you are wearing a red or white corsage, you are blessed.
God and your mother work hand in hand. They created you. They nurtured you. They are your first and eternal teachers. We all are blessed with the strength of God and our mothers. We must treasure, respect and love our God and mothers. When you stand with the blessings of your mother and God, it matters not who stands against you.
Rockford Church of God celebrated three of its graduates, Dylan Shone, Trinity Hill and Abyy Tate. Pastor Hill gave them the opportunity to speak of the blessings of God for bringing them this far, and each one read a meaningful scripture that meant a lot to their growth in Christ and education and also walked us through the meaning as a whole, how it really affects them, and it blessed everyone.
I say to these young graduates, education is not limited to the classroom. It takes place in the kitchen, on the corner, as you ride or walk to any destination, when you listen or speak to others, and in the silence of your bedroom. Education springs forth from books, songs, etc. Education does not take place when you learn something you did not know before. It is your ability to use what you have learned to be better today than you were yesterday. No matter how much you know or how you learn, education is to give you greater insight to yourself.
Pastor Hill spoke very highly of and to the young ones on how important education and obedience are in this world today. It was a great celebration. Afterward we all went to the fellowship room and feasted on some super-great food prepared by El Vaquero’s restaurant in Rockford, with Lady Mandy Hill in charge, and she did an awesome job, including the beautiful decorations.
I’m going to get away from the serious stuff for a minute and give you some kids stuff.

My 2-year-old great-grandson is excited about being potty trained and using the bathroom standing up as men and little boys urinate. One day riding in the car with his dad he had to use the bathroom, so his dad stopped on the side of the road because he (great-grandson) did not want to wet his pants. So another day they went to the Dollar General, and as soon as they got out of the car, entering the store, he opened his pants and began to urinate right in front of the store. His dad had to stop him and was embarrassed.
We must be careful how we teach our little kids (boys), especially the difference from girls’ actions than boys. It was funny when I heard about it, but it’s real. We have to really teach them well.
Happy birthday to Kathy Johnston Smiley, Adline Johnson and to all May babies.
Praying for all graduates and schools.
