Richville Rundown

Happy Easter to everyone! If you are looking for a sunrise service, Providence Baptist would welcome everyone to come out early Easter morning to ours.
It is at the cemetery on the hill behind the church at 6:30 a.m. There is nothing like it! Being out there with the sun coming up behind the crosses is breathtaking.
We’ve been having it on that hill for at least 50 years and never had to cancel because of rain. There have been times it had been raining before or began right after. A few years there was no sunrise because of being so overcast.
Again, anyone is welcome to join us on the hill with refreshments in the fellowship hall following the service.
The Coosa County Historical Society will have its quarterly meeting on Sunday, April 27, at 2 p.m. at the Rockford Senior Center. You don’t have to be a member to attend, so all are welcome. Refreshments will be furnished by members.
The Richville Volunteer Fire Department’s next Bingo will be on Saturday, May 10, at 6:30 p.m. That is the Saturday before Mother’s Day, so put it on your calendar.
Also, the fire department will be selling Boston Butts again this year for Memorial Day weekend. Pickup will be on Saturday, May 24, from 7 to 9 a.m. See any fire department member for tickets as they always sell out. Also, the Neighborhood Watch will be selling baked goods that morning.
This week’s verse about Easter is found in Luke 24:6-7, which reads, “He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.”
There are two holidays that are the core of Christian belief: Christmas, which celebrates the birth of Jesus; and Easter, which celebrates the death and resurrection of Christ.
Sunday we will celebrate because Jesus died on the cross, was buried, but rose from the grave! Because of His sacrifice, we have eternal life.
Yes, we will still experience physical death, but if we believe in Christ, we will have life after death. A life that will be in the presence of God. However, that is a promise that only those who believe will experience.
Be in prayer for all those that are sick in our community. But also, think about giving someone a call just to say hello; it will make a difference in their day. Many times, when we go out to spread blessings to others, it’s us that gets the blessing.
