The Buzz
Buzzy the Buzzard
So, I’ve been trying to nudge the Legislature, and enlist my many fans, to help to preserve print public notices. While not impossible, this is difficult. It’s like soaring in the face of a hurricane.
I have been reading about the legislative process, and it is not straightforward. There is one bill about public works projects and one about voters lists, and what about foreclosures and estates? What about subdivisions and zoning and public auctions and tax sales?
People are not going to be aware of any of this in order to search for it online. Awareness is the first step in information seeking. The poor community news editors have to put it out there first. Remember this applies to half the counties in the state.
The spring bloom of campaign signs tells us the names of who is running for local offices. But the newspapers will carry much more important information about the local races.
Community news is vital. My cousins circle in the air – that’s community news. Without it, we would starve. I’ll keep my eye on the sky, and my nose in the News.
Love,
Buzzy
