The year 2024 came and left so fast that my ups and downs turned me completely around. However, God allowed me to get back up, and I thank Him.
I thank Him for all that happened in 2024, the happy and the sad moments. I thank Him for Coosa County’s law enforcement, emergency department, fire departments, lawyers, Sheriff’s Office, “The Coosa County News,” churches, restaurants, courthouse, and all officials of Coosa County, including the commissioners.
A special thanks to Commissioner John Forbus of District 1, who is a great man and commissioner. Butch thinks he is the best. We put him beside former commissioners Anthony Thornton and deceased Paul Perrett. There are many good reasons they are the best, and they hold a special place in our hearts.
We appreciate all the commissioners, and I personally thank Commissioner Bertha McElrath of District 2 for holding her ground as a strong lady working with four men for years. Bravo to her.
You have to be a strong woman to stand up in society today! We women must stand strong today. We don’t get the credit we deserve because of some men’s egos, but it’s all OK. A woman told a king what to do.
The last two months of 2024 were up and down months for me. However, God strengthened me and pulled me up for 2025. I will claim this year of ups for me, my families, my friends, and loved ones.
I pray for a lovely couple of Rockford Church of God who has started their year of 2025 off in an upright and uppermost way. Jacob and Kelsey Shone were baptized in the month of November 2024 and got married in December, finishing the year out greatly, with nothing but love, happiness and joy. We all are looking forward for good things in 2025 for the Shones.
There is so much chaos going on in the world today that we must pray without ceasing. Pray for the ones who are causing trouble. People are so miserable and want everyone else to be miserable, but there is a better way to conquer that. Pray, love one another and be happy. Put God first in our lives.
We are too busy putting other things first and forgetting about who supplies those things, who woke us up to see and feel those things. People, God is calling us to pray and fast. This is a new year. Let’s start it off doing what God wants us to do. He wants us to do a new thing. Get off of milk and eat some meat.
Churches have stopped having prayer meetings – for what reason, I don’t know – but I do know it is needed! Let the church say amen (LOL). I am not a preacher, but I am a speaker, and I speak what God wants me to speak, and in 2025 I am going to do just that!
Let’s pray for our country, the world and all churches and leaders.
