The Central Cougars faced off against 2A Lanett Panthers for their homecoming game with the energy high in the stadium as alumni packed the end zone with tailgating tents. The Cougars started off strong and continued to pick up steam as they passed the Lanett Panthers, ending the game with a score of 28-21.
Tenth grader Ja’Von Peterson was right on point the whole game, passing two touchdown-scoring passes to Antoneo Grant and Cory Thompson. Peterson also raked up 96 yards rushing, including a touchdown.
The win ended the seven-game losing streak for the Central Cougars as they head to LaFayette tonight. The Cougars will return home next Friday, October 25, with the senior night ceremony starting at 6:30 p.m.
