Volleyball Senior Night celebrates with win against Talladega

The Lady Cougar varsity volleyball team recognized their two senior players, as well as their volunteer managers, in a ceremony during their game against Talladega County this week.

Traci Cox has played volleyball for six years and was escorted by her parents, Tony and Debora Cox.

Brynlee Hawthorne has also played volleyball for five years and was joined by her parents, Tony and Ashley Hawthorne.
The volleyball program also recognized the student concession manager this season, Harper Elliott, who was escorted by her father, Chris Elliott.
In addition the three team managers were recognized, as well. Reagan Cardwell has served as a volleyball manager for five years and was joined by her parents, Valerie Hall and Darrell Cardwell.
Zynedria Edwards has served as a volleyball manager for five years, as well, and was joined by her mom, Donna Chestner, and brother, Quantavious Benson.
Lastly, Samaria Owens has served as a volleyball manager for one year and was escorted by Mr. Stover.
Congratulations, seniors, and thank you to the parents and families for supporting the Lady Cougar volleyball program, as well as coaches Elliott and Reeser for the countless hours you have devoted to our athletes.
The seniors showed they were leaders of the team, beating the Talladega Tigers 16-25, 17-25, and 18-25. Cox was a leader with 16 serve attempts and 19 kill attempts, while Hawthorne led with 16 assists. Go Cougars! Pictures courtesy of PTO president, Maressa Ware.
