Tuesday night the Jr. High football team defeated Horseshoe Bend’s Jr. High team 46-6. Coach Conkle said, “It was a complete team effort!”
Conkle added, “There were mistakes, as there always will be in any sport, but overall the young Cougars played quite well, demonstrating great effort and tremendous teamwork. It would be unfair to single out particular players who excelled; they ALL did their part. This is a group of young men who listen to their coaches and learn from us. They are coachable.”
Coach Jarred Washington and Coach Michael Edwards are instrumental in the success of this team, as well; their impact cannot and should not be minimized in any way. The “young undefeated cubs” have two victories with two games remaining. The defense has allowed 12 points compared to the offense scoring 90 points so far this season.
Conkle finished by saying, “These young men compete with grit and determination, and the future looks bright for Cougar Football.” Go Cougars.
